Upprepning, tråkig och platt. Skönt att det är över men hoppas att någon annan författare kan ta över konceptet och börja om.
Like many fans of Stieg Larsson, I also think David Lagercrantz is in a tough spot, since he obviously can never live up to Larsson's legacy. Everything from the characters to the general plot of each book and the overall trajectory of Lisbeth Salander is just bland. I only kept on reading the series, because the books were enjoyable enough and I just couldn't let go of our protagonist. However, this time around it didn't feel like Lisbeth at all. I found her scattered, incoherent and undone on every single level. She was just too emotional and out of control, which isn't like her at all. Even amidst all the chaos of her terrible past and her present struggles with the ghosts that come back to torment her she is methodical and in control of herself and others. Always. I am glad the events that happened in the end of this book gave me the feeling this was the end, because I honestly don't know how the series could possibly go on.

Nachdem mir Band eins der ursprünglichen Trilogie sehr gefallen hat, las ich dann den zweiten Band und das war es dann auch. Nach x-Jahren nun habe ich mich an der neuen Reihe versucht und komme nun definitiv zum Schluss, dass diese Serie nichts für mich ist.
Die Kriminalhandlung fand ich eigentlich sehr spannend und habe auch nur deswegen weitergelesen. Lisbeth dagegen wurde mir noch unsympathischer als sie es sowieso schon war und dieses ewige Hin und Her mit Mikael ging mir ziemlich auf den Keks.
Also nein, die Millennium-Reihe wird von mir nicht fortgesetzt.

I loved this one. There will always be a difference with a different author at the reigns but the Everest element kept this story engaging. I believe they wisely chose to end the series here. I'm glad we can revisit this set of characters from the works of both authors.
