Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoy the take over trilogy, but the soul of the characters just hasn’t been the same as in the original Larsson books. The story lines have been great… but my heart is with the first 3 books
I feel like Stieg Larsson’s point of view is starting to get lost in this book. The books are getting shorter and shorter and unrealistic and not sticking to Lisbeth’s character. I feel this book and series should have a much darker plot with Lisbeth. Seriously, after this book, Lisbeth should by all accounts be dead. The final “battle” if you will was not keeping with Stieg.
That being said, I did really enjoy this book. I loved learning about Sherpas and the Rainbow Valley on Mt. Everest. I spent extra time outside of this book reading about it. Very intriguing. The subplots with Mikael are always exciting. I love all the research that goes into them.

My dad introduced me to Steig Larsen’s Millennium Series years ago. David Lagercrantz pulled off an amazing feat in capturing the spirit of the characters, places, and antics when he took over the series. Although I am sad to say farewell to Lisbeth, Mikael, Annika, Bublanski, Modig, and the rest, I am pleased to know that the ending of the series is just as gripping and heart-clutching as the beginning. I will always carry love in my heart for these fictional, adventurous, ingenious friends.
This was definitely my least favourite of the series. While the last 50-100 pages were much more involved and held more of my attention, I found this part of Lisbeth's story too political and less action filled overall.
I don't find this author's Millenium stories to be as
wonderful as the originals by Steig Larsen.
This one is a jumbled mess when it discusses the
events of the mountain climbing sequences. So
many times characters are 'almost dead/frozen'
only to revive and trudge on. Wotta lark.
The overall plot is okay but not enough of
Lisbeth as opposed to Blumqvist. Meh.

Definitely my least favorite so far. The first three cannot be matched but I will always come back for more Lisbeth. 3.5 but rounded up due to sentimentality.
