less dense than larssons were - good but not my fav of millennium

A very worthy conclusion (?) to the Millennium saga.

I really love Salander and Blomkvist characters. This series reminds me a little of Jo Nesbo Harry Hole series. I will say I liked this one better than the last in the series as it had less tech more personal story/back story connections. I struggled a little with audiobook as I kept on getting characters and story lines mixed up. I needed a little distraction from reality with this story.

Not my favorite of the new series. At times it was hard to follow all the players in the expedition on the mountain that was so key to the story and I felt Lisbeth was a background character. I wanted more Lisbeth I guess!

I definitely didn't love this one as much as I've loved others in this series. There were a lot of developments and decisions by characters that after so long with them felt very out of place and almost alien. The last half of the book was good, but it didn't wow me like others in the series had before.

I’m a tad disappointed with this installment. While I’m fine with the continuation by Lagercrantz, this one didn’t step it up quite enough. Tbh I mostly enjoyed the very FEW scenes where Lisbeth is the badass she was created to be.

This is the sixth book in the Millenium series originated by Stieg Larsson and written by David Lagercrantz. English translation by George Golding.
The writing style is very much in imitation of Larsson's in the earlier books, so if you're happy with that you'll enjoy this more than I did.
As a thriller, the book is sadly lacking in action: what action there is takes place mostly over 20 or 30 pages in the second half. The style is very discursive; every step in the plot is packed out with long detailed descriptions of what the characters are doing, thinking, what their history is or what the press are saying about them.  Despite this overload of detail, I came away with no real feel for the characters and who they really were. By the end of the book I was left with a very empty feeling and the realisation that little had changed for any of the characters (and that the writer doesn't really know anything about climbing).
