I am absolutely obsessed with the Bennett family and wish this was more than a standalone. All the feelings for Kai and Riley as the gave in to their need for each other after working through past trauma. I love Riley's fierceness and the way she did bend to Kai just because of who he was and what he did. I loved that they finally gave each other a glimpse of their love that made them know it was something worth fighting for.

I wish we had a book for each of the rest of the Bennett family. I'm not ready to see them go.

like... this wasn't bad but a lot of things were off
honestly im surprised that i read that much cause honestly i wanted to stop at like 30%
it was just...idk
i liked neither of main characters, their relationship was sometimes weird and the plot was just, idk, flat? like there happened a lot of things but they were all boring?

i get that some people like it, or even love it, but it just wasn't for me

Well she did it again, Tijan made me cry! I guess she would blame Kai but I'm holding Tijan responsible for my waterworks. Bennett Mafia could totally be more than just a standalone (says the needy, greedy bookworm inside me but alas...). With so many characters that steal your heart, it's bittersweet to hit the end. Don't let my whining get in the way, I want more. I always want more.

Bennett Mafia is a page turner for sure. I was right there constantly trying to see where it was going. So many questions, I didn't even have time to verbalize because I couldn't pause my reading to process them. I needed to keep reading. I needed reassurance. I needed hope. I needed some darn answers!

Mafia Love

I love how Riley ends up as Brooke's roommate at private school and first meets Kai when he comes to tell his sister some bad news. When their eyes meet she hated him from the first sight. He then kidnaps Riley 13 years later when his sister Goes missing. Riley has been working for the Hidden Network that helps place people in bad situations. Kai believes that she helped Brooke to escape and hide.
She fights Kai all the way refusing to give him any information especially when he threatens the life of people she works with. That hate eventually turns into like then Loving Kai. She thinks the feelings are mutual until he breaks her heart and she does everything to separate herself from the Bennett family.
However when she think she's free and clear of them Johana show's up as she's making a run to disappear again. Something unfortunate happens and brings Kai back into her life. Then they finally get their HEA.

I came for the mafia and stayed for the mafia. Surprised to find out there's a novella after this. Mostly because it's about Jonah and I want to read it. Zero regrets or hesitation on my part.

I actually LOVED this book. You could feel the attraction between them and I loved how hooked I got so quickly on this story. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star was the ridiculousness of the timeline for things.

SpoilerShe was approached at 14 or 15 to be a "hider". Yeah, I don't think so. That was silly and ridiculous and not at all believable. Many similar mentions kept me popping out of this story and taking away my enjoyment. If it had been right after high school I would have been fine, but every mention of the age and timing and wham, I'm right back out of the story as I ponder the dubiousness of that.
