Coming to this from the anime, I think this story generally works much better as a manga. The parallel life sequences is much more punchy and understandable, and the 4 panel comics work super well. I think part of the process part of the story and friendship works extremely well in the anime, but it gets the pacing a little, where here it's pretty perfect.

First book that I read in Japanese. It was hard to understand, thankfully the drawings help to understand. After watching the movie, I liked the experience of the manga.
