THAT BRITISH ACCENT THO <3

Dirty English was so freaking good! I actually read it for a certain challenge and I fell in love. Man, I do love accents guys! However, this book did have some cons in it but I quickly overlooked it because Declan was hot af.

Okay, so in this book you will meet Declan and Elizabeth. Their relationship had sparks, chemistry, and amazing smut. However, I didn't really love Elizabeth. She was just meh to me and was a terrible communicator really. There were so many chances where she could've changed my opinion on her but she just fell flat. I still have no idea why she didn't tell anyone who the hell Colby actually was until the very end. I also have no idea why she even talks to her mother because she was fucking horrible.

Then there's Declan. Now his family dynamic was a bit weird as well. I liked his relationship with his brother and everything but that's about it. Then there's the whole ex-girlfriend drama which did nothing for me. Besides all of that, there was the whole thing about him owning a gym and everything but doing underground fighting, which is illegal, to get money for said gym? Eh, I don't know about that.

Overall, they were cute and the accent sucked me in. I'm glad they got their happy ending as well.

4 stars!

This story was p cute. It was technically insta love and usually that bothers me but it didn’t this time.

It’s basically about this girl named Elizabeth who goes to a frat party in college and is saved from an uncomfortable situation by a hot British boy named Declan. And then irony of ironies they just so happen to be living in apartments right next to each other. Of course they fall in love but it takes a while because Elizabeth does not trust men or love (which is totally understandable if you read the first couple chapters).

I know this book is said to be a loose retelling of Jane Austen’s pride and prejudice. I just want to reiterate the loose part of that statement. Like to the point where there’s really not a point looking for parallels unless you want to. I suggest just enjoy the story :)

It was nice and short. Also I really liked the side characters especially Dax (I hope we get to see his story later).

Trigger warnings: rape, fighting, implied attempted suicide, attempted murder

DIRTY ENGLISH!!!!

Great read! This book deserves much more than 5 Stars! The Characters were Awesome! Declan is mouth watering! I loved the pride and prejudice untwined throughout this book! Declan is a Perfect mr Darcy with a hole lot more Sex appeal! Elizabeth conquers a lot of fears and she struggles with letting someone back into her heart! This was a beautiful fun filled action packed book! I loved it and I hope there's going to be a sequel with these characters! Can't wait to read more from this author!

As always, Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers on the chemistry, the angst, and the push-pull relationship dynamic. Declan and Elizabeth are fire together. I love to see authors interpret classics in their own way, and this was definitely a unique, interesting way to retell Pride and Prejudice.

So then I read the blurb believe me I am a sentimental bitch. My beart beats for England. So if there is a British accent then I am so in.

Life ain't a romance novel. It is messy and dirty and far from perfect. Sometimes you want the Picture perfect book but with this one I was bloody well estatic.

So as most of you know I am not really a NA fan but hey there is always an exception to the rule.

I found this book how on angst as there were some things that can be disturbing for some.

I crown this book with 4 “Our scars make us know that our past was for real” Stars.

The worst thing that could happen to a woman happened to Elizabeth Bennett. No one has either been there for her. Really been there for her.
Two years later she has certain rules that she abides by. She has kept to them till she meet Declan 'Dirty English' Blay. They both go to Whitman University.

They meet at a frat party and are instantly attracted to one another. Although they both fight it. It develops into more. All of us flaws. These two are the same.

“I have faults enough, but they are not, I hope, of understanding. My temper I dare not vouch for. It is, I believe, too little yielding— certainly too little for the convenience of the world. I cannot forget the follies and vices of other so soon as I ought, nor their offenses against myself. My feelings are not puffed about with every attempt to move them. My temper would perhaps be called resentful. My good opinion once lost, is lost forever.”

It's a modern day version of Pride and Prejudice. It teaches about loss, about letting go. Changing your path and thinking that the one thing that could be wrong for you might actually be the one Thing that can get you to move forward with your life.

Fuck me. He is a true Brit and fan yourself ladies, he has a twin brother Dax. Need I say more?

this was worse than beautiful disaster

literally the same premise except the main character in this one is sexually assaulted before she finds her one true love. and the love interest in this is british.

words can't describe how bad this was. from the dick van dyke in mary poppins slang for the british guy, the girl who is in love with classic literature AND makes her own metal jewelry, to the street fighting... it was just. bad.

and i powered through it thinking i might be rewarded with some decent sex scenes. but to me, plunging your finger in to someone while you're declaring your undying love is just... not sexy. call me old fashioned, but i want a different kind of declaration.

i was also extremely annoyed at the lack of precaution these two college students were taking. "hey i know we're practically strangers but let's fuck raw and hope you don't get pregnant." give me a freaking break. i was hoping it was gonna be some sort of foreshadowing and she would be punished for her stupidity with a surprise child. but unfortunately that never happens.

uh yeah that's all i'm gonna say. this was cheesy, the plot was poor, the characters were my least favorite. and i don't think i want to pick up any other books by this author unfortunately. good riddance and goodnight.

Smart and sexy New Adult is back in Ilsa Madden-Mills' newest offering, Dirty English.

This book was smart and funny. I loved the build up of the sexual tension between Declan and Elizabeth. I always jump on the fighter romances, and Declan didn't disappoint. There was just the right amount of drama to keep me flipping the pages and captivated by these characters and this story. I've never read Pride and Prejudice but after reading Dirty English, I think that's something I may have to rectify.

I've been a fan of Ilsa's since Very Bad Things and as usual I'm looking forward to seeing if Declan's sexy, English twin, Dax, will get a story. I need it now!
