The small chapters make it easy to digest and the alternating chapters between the two main characters makes the book fly by. Although the twist was somewhat predictable, it still caught me off guard as the puzzle pieces slowly were put together.

I finished this book in two days cause I didn’t want to stop. And then at the end I also didn’t want it to stop. I need more information/another book now please.

Great story with good twists. Was shorter than most thrillers, didn’t love the writing style but the story kept me

The twist was something I wasn’t expecting at all. Good story, good characters, good writing. Very creative! It was the first book I’ve read that gives us the killers perspective. Very excited for the second book to be released!

"While technically fragile, the wren outwits its underprepared predator to come out on top when threatened."

This was not bad! Thrillers tend to be hit or miss for me, but I am a fan of true crime and Morbid was one of the first podcasts I ever binged and though I haven't listened to Ash and Alaina for quite some time I knew I wanted to read The Butcher and the Wren.

While this story wasn't as gripping as some of the thrillers I've read in the past, the short chapters made it fly by, and I was compelled enough that it kept me interested the whole time (which is saying something considering I listen to books while I work, which can be distracting).

I don't know if I would continue the series if she were to write more, but this was worth the listen for me! The audiobook narrators did a great job in keeping me rooted in the game of cat and mouse between the Butcher and Wren.
