Until about 3/4 of the way through I felt a little underwhelmed. The premise and storyline is 5 stars but I found myself feeling like the story was too simply written, not enough detail, like a high schooler or young college student wrote it. By the end, due to the relatability I've had in my own life, it left me feeling raw and vulnerable like an ex lover would which I didn't expect to feel. I'm torn, but I give it 3 stars because I really feel like it needed some extra seasoning and depth in the story telling, or a second book. While I could see the point michelle was trying to make at the end, It felt like a open-ended circle coming of age.

this was a quick read and there were certainly parts i related to, but i know that this isn’t a book that’s going to stick with me. i found the writing to be pretty dry, and i wasn’t a fan of the relationship between the narrator and the unnamed woman - i failed to see any chemistry between them and their relationship made me uncomfortable

How the relationship we had at eighteen nineteen impacted our entire being going forward. Losing your mum who you had a strange relationship with as a young adult. Navigating queer relationships and the art of being alone.

I don’t have anything profound to say this was just a really good and enjoyable read.

A bit on the nose and wildly overwritten (a simile every line it seemed) but a good book to pass the time and an exploration of youth and exploitation. Appreciated the shortness of it but that it still packed a punch.
