it‘s complicated for me to rate this because on the one side i really rushed through this book and sort of enjoyed it, the characters are only semi-likable but i was invested in this messy situation. towards the end i thought there was some development, though i think that was crushed again.

Sally Rooney is well-liked among many readers whose opinions I value, but her work just isn't for me. I've tried but can't get into the books. I hate to be that person but the lack of quotations marks really bothers me. Maybe I'll pick the book back up in a few years and develop a new opinion, but for now this sits on my DNF pile!
Realmente he dudado si ponerle las 5 estrellas, pero a quién vamos a engañar. Me ha encantado. Aunque el tema central se me haya colado como un caballo de Troya (pensaba que se centraría más en las relaciones de la protagonista con las mujeres a su alrededor y no en su situación amorosa), el tratamiento y los personajes me han parecido lo suficiente interesantes y bien definidos como para tenerme enganchada todo el rato. Echo muchísimo de menos que desarrolle más la relación con el resto de mujeres de la novela (que, además, me parecen infinitamente más interesantes que el personaje masculino), pero aún así lo he disfrutado muchísimo. Tiene marcadores de personaje muy guays y muy fáciles de hacer que demuestran que Rooney es una escritora de las buenas.
El final la verdad es que me ha dejado un poco traspuesta. Muchas ganas de llorar porque me parecía muy bonito todo, pero a la vez mucha rabia por ese final. Desde luego me ha hecho un poco de daño. Un poco atacada personalmente me siento con esto.

More like 3.5 stars - I enjoyed the language and written style of this book but like some of the other reviewers, I found the characters hard to connect with. Apart from Frances and Bobbi, whose relationship felt nuanced and richly layered, it was difficult to believe in the romantic entanglements between the other characters.
