I eat up a fake marriage/fake relationship love story every time. Bonus points if the love story takes place on vacation. Anna is so lovable and amazing and so real. I’m so proud of West (which is better than Liam, sorry), their love story was amazing and I’m a sucker for family and kids so all the other characters were phenomenally and wow I’ve never seen a father be such a terrible fucking person in my goddamn life. Actually no, the father from Twisted Love would like a word. But wow!

Anyway, to be more concise, I really enjoyed this book. After recently rereading the Unhoneymooners, the authors are so amazing at humor and vacation romances that it makes me dream a bit, and I really wanted to see how everything would unfold.
Charlie deserved better, but I’m impressed with how far the family came.
Also, this book was definitely sexier than the Unhoneymooners in case anyone is not too big on heavy sexual content.

Would definitely reread.
Also, I’VE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO HAVE A WHITE MAN GO TO JAIL! THANK YOU, CHRISTINA AND LAUREN!

The more I read by Christina Lauren, the more I love the books! This one had a fun premise and setting. What is better than being trapped by your fake husband and his crazy family at a tropical island wedding where everyone is watching? It dealt with some heavy themes of wealth, privilege, mental health, family, marriage, and career issues. There were plenty of fun and steamy moments to balance the dark. One of my favorite romances of the year so far!

The book was very predictable which left little to be desired. The majority of the book was cheesy and indulgent, the last quarter of the book had the most substance and drama that made it good. It felt like a weird tone shift.

I enjoyed the book, but it was darker than I expected or at least more emotional. The toxicity of Liam's family holy shit! I can see how he would have been brainwashed to fall in line or everyone would lose their inheritance, but it was frustrating. I was with Anna, NO ONE needs all that money! Liam could say no to his father, his siblings wouldn't have been out on the street, and they all had good jobs, or spouses who were also loaded.
If I'd been in that situation, Anna would have disgusted me, disgusted with the wealth and excess. Overall, it was a good book, just more emotional than I was prepared for. It harkened back to the Beautiful Bastard days but with more emotional depth. I wish we'd gotten more into Anna's past and issues as well.

Narrator Rating: 5.0 stars
Both narrators did an amazing job.
