Alicia and her twin brother Danny (10) go to a school for great athletes. Danny doesn't think cheerleading is a real sport so Alicia dares him to come to practice. Alicia healthily discusses with her mom her frustration with her brother. I really like that the book focuses on the strength and teamwork aspects of cheerleading and features male cheerleaders, one who plays basketball off season from cheering. Also includes a history of cheerleading and an interview with Alicia in the back.

Spoilerthey ARE very wrong because FEW ACTIVITIES REQUIRE MORE ATHLETICISM THAN CHEERLEADING (that's me yelling at school-age Jodi "I'm not like the other girls" Langley)!
