I won't say anything was necessarily wrong with this graphic novel. I just kept finding myself putting it down and not really caring to pick it up again. Months would go by and I would have made no progress. I eventually decided it wasn't one I wanted to read.

I did not expect to like this as much as I did!

”I protect. That’s it. Clock in, do my job, clock out.”

The premise of a world where mass-funded assassination bounties are just accepted is so interesting. Vita and Charlie’s dynamic is full of comedy and sharp quips against each other, naturally, as neither of them really want to be in this situation. Vita is a woman of color, and there is F/F representation that I loved seeing!

Dog is still my favorite character, though. He’s a tiny chihuahua looking thing that, somehow, wound up on this messed up journey with them. If anything happens to him I will lose my mind.

The art in this series is really pleasing to the eye. Facial expressions are pushed to meet maximum comedic potential and also to show when things get intense. I often found myself admiring single panels, trying to imagine how much work went into just one sliver of this.

Definitely want to continue and see where Vita and Charlie end up, what Charlie’s been (supposedly) hiding this whole time, and who the mystery sunglasses girl is. All this and more to be revealed, I guess! ✨
