Maybe I’m getting too old, but I found myself more interested in Hanako and Mak’s story.

3rd in series. Izumi is still struggling with suddenly being a Japanese princess. Her mom and dad are engaged so she is doing everything she can to make the press and public love her so they will approve the marriage: study for college entrance exams, find appropriate boyfriend, befriend evil cousins…
Enjoyed the first book enough to read this one as an easy, distracting read. By no means great literature. Easy, predictable, pleasant.
In this follow up to Tokyo Ever After, all is well for Princess Izumi, her parents are reunited, her boyfriend is amazing and she is learning how to be a princess. Until everything falls apart and Izumi must focus on becoming the perfect princess in order to save the fate of her parent's marriage. But what is the cost for Izumi? The book was a great follow up to the first, with a few surprising twists. A definite pick for romance fans.

I really really enjoy this series because Princess Diaries was one of my favorite series and movies as a teen so it’s very nostalgic. Izumi is delightful and I really loved the new side characters in this book and how she ended up finding what she actually wanted to do.
