Unfortunately took me forever, but this was a fun read! If I hadn't found this book, I would have made it my bucket list goal of writing a book about food culture and history of various aspects such as utensils and kitchens.
I highly recommend this as a read. Side note: last 30% of ebook is all the notes, citations, and acknowledgements, so the book isn't as lengthy as it seems.

Fantastic! Cooking is an art, and the tools we use have so much history behind them. Reading this made me love my kitchen all the more (especially since I learned I have pretty good taste in the tools that I am naturally drawn toward).

Interesting. Very informative. If you like to know random facts and history in terms of tools and cultural norms, this will be a good fit.

Some was very interesting. Some was … not so much. She gave historical context (interesting), inventions (interesting) and then her own personal preference (not so much). Had to speed it way up to get through.

My biggest takeaways:
- People shouldn’t be boiling food that much.
- Holy shit the human jaw.
This was interesting, but it didn’t align with my interests as much as I thought it would, which is obviously not the book’s fault. Definitely useful as fun facts for when my brain pulls a Mr Collins.

Finished pretty quickly, easy to read, informative about the subject, nothing really that deep but will give you some fun facts to throw around.
