2.5? An additional 0.5 because of the attractive love interest.

A bit too violent and graphic for my taste, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. It's a nice reading experience, I just didn't like the storyline.

I'd give this a 2.5 at best. I'm not a fan. This feels like it is a bad attempt at trying to get into the biggest fad in writing... Dystopia YA. Don't get me wrong. I like dystopian works, but the reasons I like it are the creativity that's had with some semblance of a link to real life, the critique of current issues which leads to this new future. This is hardly creative and is not that well written. More than half the novel leaves me rolling my eyes. Parts of it are interesting but overall it's way too hyped for what it is.
