Didn't hit me as hard as the first time I read it, but still absolutely qualifies as a comfort book for me -- cozy nihilism. Crazy conspiracy shit, sci fi body horror, and devastatingly bleak. Love the voice of the protagonist.

I was not a fan of this book. While it's described as a woman in a town having to deal with something that is described like a zombie book, it definitely isn't. 90% of the characters are in high school. While I might have liked this more if it flowed a bit better and the book was what I thought it would be, what I listened to was more of a chore than enjoyment. It was an okay book at best.

This book really had a little bit of everything. I was missing more of the tech/bio-tech bits but all of the bloodshed and senseless violence more than made up for it. If you are in the mood for something unsettling with some solid horror scenes, this book should be on your TBR.
