Holly Black really writes wonderful books. Despite Surren's character development she doesn't entirely change. Years of trauma aren't wiped away, but she does realize she has more power over her life than she thought. I'm so excited to read the second book.

This book is so empowering and gives the future look at the cruel Prince that I had been wanting. If you enjoyed the cruel Prince trilogy you will like this book a lot.

This honestly felt like the same but different to the cruel prince. The betrayal was so mellow and nothing really. The romance or angst wasn't there and I just don't get the hype lmao. Only thing I liked is how gruesome the Fae are
