Not my favorite Terry Pratchett. That said, I'm not exactly the target age group ;-)

This is the first book i've read by Pratchett..i know..a little behind the times. Anyway, really enjoyed it..a lot of subtle little messages about life and the human condition...depending on how you read..am about to read Johnny and the dead now..and look forward to reading more of Pratchetts work!
About few years ago I found a bunch of Terry Pratchett's books from one of my favorite second-hand bookshops. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy them all, but I'm glad that I bought this. Only You Can Save Mankind was a really good reading experience and it left a pleasant happy feeling afterwards. Now I just have to find somewhere the other parts of this trilogy.

This is book 1 of the Johnny trilogy by Pratchett. A small book, easily readable and a great idea. Loved it.

I loved that movie. Small town boy stuck in Nowhereville gets a shot at saving the universe as a starfighter pilot because he totally kicks a$$ playing a video game. I'm sure I'd think it was awful now, but my 15 year old self loved that idea.
Turns out, my 42 year old self still loves the idea. Especially as interpreted by Terry Pratchett. Lovely tongue in cheek English humour and just enough geek to make me really happy. Most diverting! LOL
