I love Dorian Havilliard. His come up in this book is chefs kiss. Wish I had more story w him and Manon.

Aelin kinda threw me with the word keys at the end. Didn't understand that decision but it all worked out in the end.

Gavriel.... Im so sad that him and Adeion didnt get that last conversation. That scene def wrecked me.

This book was long but the story was so good. This series is just amazing.

My least favorite in the Throne of Glass series.
Honestly it was good, and I'll read it again, but it definitely had parts that dragged on and on. I was a bit disappointed, overall. I felt like the ending was predictable and unspectacular. However, I do like an ending that depicts how life is after the chaos ends.

Incredible. Life changing. Heart shattering. Worth every tear. The love stories are everything.

I feel so emotional about this book. My heart breaks a little about the Throne of Glass series coming to an end...
This volume was such a page turner; almost one thousand pages of narration that never felt dull or dragging, being packed with epic battles and moments and speeches and dialogues, adrenaline, emotion, love, surprise, sacrifice. The stakes were SO high.
I was brought to tears more than once! In particular, i bawled my eyes out
as i read chapters 89 and 90. I was distraught. The sacrifice made by the Thirteen will forever give me an enormous amount of sorrow, even if what they did saved so so many lives. I love them
.
Again, during my reading experience i was often overridden with emotion, pride and love.
I was so happy and emotional when Manon gave that speech to the Ironteeth matrons, in front of the Crochans, and then when she was crowned. It was such an intense moment!
I was also very emotional when Gavriel decided to give his life in defence of the western gate... when he had barely just reunited with Aedion... i wish he lived, i wish they had more time together, i wish Gavriel knew how Aedion truly felt about him.
Another huge moment was when Aelin set herself to close the Wyrdgate, even if she desired to live, and ultimately didn't allow Dorian to finish the job with her. I haven't read yet the rest of SJM's series, but i'm pretty sure that when Aelin fell through the worlds (page 800) she also went through those of Crescent city and ACOTAR... very interesting!!
.

I am in awe at the love the characters had for Terrasen, and for their world, at what their strength and courage and selflessness in enduring the Valg armies in pursuit of the dream of a better world; protecting what they held close to their hearts. They continued fighting relentlessly, fostering hope and resilience despite all odds and the ruthlessness of the enemies outnumbering them.

Aedion was really mean to Lysandra (she deserves the world!!! she did no wrong. And she fought so hard for Terrasen, she was one of the most valiant), which angered me, but putting this aside i'll say that what he did for Terrasen, how he fought for it and how he commanded the armies, was incredibly admirable.
I was overjoyed by Lysandra and her uncle Falkan Ennar finally meeting each other.
Dorian's arc was also rich with events... he also went to Morath to retrieve the last Wyrdkey (and directly crossed paths with Maeve, there)! His magic has grown stronger than ever, he went so far as to teach himself how to shift. I hope his and Manon's futures are bright, and entwined.
Chaol faced his father, discovered that he had kept his mother's letter from him; and ultimately helped save Anielle.
Yrene was awesome! Her healing magic is amazing. She really defeated Erawan - with help from Elide, who schemed and planned, and Lysandra, and Dorian.
Nesrin is moving to the southern continent with Sartaq, sheโ€™s going to be empress!
Some rukhins stayed in Erilea in order to look after the wyvern eggs and then train the hatchlings.
Elide and Lorcan got married! Not on page, but still!
Iโ€™m curious about the Fae that used to live in Terrasen and have since moved north of the Staghorns, dwelling with the wolf tribeโ€ฆ Iโ€™m very interested in them too. It was amazing seeing them appear through the portals during the final battle.

The entire ensemble of characters was quite massive, and I think the author overall did a great job at making each of them so alive and peculiar and distinguishable. I really appreciated reading their various points of view and living the events from their standpoints.
I would have liked it if Aelin would've reached Orynth sooner than she did, maybe also because i would have liked the group to be reunited sooner. But it makes sense that it happened when it did, towards the final part of the siege of Orynth.

I would definitely love to reread this book.
I could go on and on, because there is so much to say! So much has happened! So i'll cut it short and leave my review to this:
I am truly deeply happy with the way everything unfolded, it was the most perfect and special conclusion for this story. Personally, my own world was made a little better thanks to this series, to what it brought to me.
