I enjoyed this book but I was very sad about there not being
any spicy scenes.
Oh well, still a great ending with no loose ends. Loved TOG! Best SJM series!

This was admittedly not my favorite of the series. I’m not a fan of extended battle scenes, military planning, general hopelessness and casual loss of life, so I was kind of not thrilled that the final installment is basically just that for 1,000 pages. For what it was though, I enjoyed it. Just not my favorite book style! The use of deus ex machina as a plot device was a bit tiring. It’s not that fun to read about battle scenes generally, but it’s pretty tiring and predictable if the only way l the good guys can possibly succeed is for unforeseen aid to arrive just as the battle appears lost (again).

All of that said, there were some really amazing passages that ALMOST made me cry (this is very rare) and the ending was a good one. I will miss these characters and I loved this series so much!!!

Really enjoyed this one! Despite being the longest boom in the series, it had the least “filler”. Was a great wrap up to the series and brought out all the emotions.

Look, this book was probably one of the best of the series. Limited explicit scenes, and Aelin was actually nice.

Could have probably been 200 pages shorter, and it did take me a while to finish it as I preferred to play Zelda or do jobs.

I am glad I finished the series tho. 10 years later.
