Happy Publishing Day! Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of the audio.
Basic premise of the story is the FMC suffers a TBI and loses her memory. She doesn’t remember her boyfriend nor how she nice she was prior. It’s very Hallmark-ish. A good palate cleanser after reading a heavy novel. Easy to read. Charming and heartwarming. Definitely a sweet and relaxing book to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this offering by Hunter...I haven't read one of hers for quite some time, but I will definitely be revisiting her library. I really enjoyed this sweet, but not sappy, story of Jonah and Lauren. They had only known each other a short time when an accident threatens to upend everything they had already encountered and built together. I thought the dual timeline of past and present detailing both their lives really enhanced the storyline without making it confusing or jumbled. The many emotions were really captured well by the author.
I thought the narrator was enjoyable to listen to and did a good job with all voices.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARL. All opinions are mine.

Loved this book! The story was so sweet. I loved the dual timeline as the stories came to the accident. The way it came together in the end was so good. I couldn’t hold back the tears! Great read!
4.5 stars ⭐️ Oh my gosh, I loved this one! A cozy fall rom com with second chances and found family. I devoured it in less than 24 hours. I loved flipping back in time to prior to the accident to see how they fell in love the first time while you see their relationship progress in the present time as well.

This was a cute book - it gave cozier vibes while following a more traumatic / emotional plot line.
I don’t know why but i really enjoy the amnesia plot line. It’s really enjoyable in a sense that when they give you amnesia and a daul plot line it gives you basically two love stories all wrapped in one.
There wasn’t anything groundbreaking in this, but i had a good time and would recommend it.
The narration in the audiobook was well done and lent positively to the overall enjoyment of the book!

i’ve been a fan of Denise for years and while this is not my favorite of her books, I do recommend it if you enjoy second chance, forced proximity, or no spice romances!! Jonah’s love for Lauren was so sweet and he did everything right towards her in a impossible situation. i loved the ending and was so happy about the resolution of a very important relationship.
i listened to the audiobook and the narrator was great, i was just confused frequently when it switched from past to present because the flashbacks were to just a few months prior in the same setting, but besides that it was a good book!!
thank you so much to the author and publisher for the e-arc & audiobook arc!!!

I was really silly and didn’t realise this was a christian romance before I requested it and once I realised it was too late! So I’ve set that aside because I can’t rate it down based on my own mistake and minus the christianity references it was a very good read. I honestly never thought I would enjoy the memory loss trope and I’ve never been a fan of the dual timeline either but I loved it in this book. I also thought the narrator was fantastic and completely brought the story to life.

Very cute and sweet read- this is definitely for a reader who wants a sweet romance, but one that isn’t too surprising of what happens.
I loved the setting so much, even if some other aspect didn’t capture my love as much.

Book #84 of 2024
Completed: Aug. 31st
I’ve read many novels by this author but this is my favourite. It is her BEST work, in my opinion. From the gorgeous autumn cover to the epilogue that makes your heart feel like it will stretch right out of your body, this book is a must-read. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Kim Churchill, is fantastic! I had never heard her before but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy an audiobook with her name attached to it.
This novel has joy and heartbreak, beauty and ugliness, tears and laughter, emptiness and fullness, strengths and weaknesses, low valleys and mountain-top moments. And she does it all with the reader feeling fully invested and immersed in the characters and community.
They are not perfect characters with a Cinderella story. There are flaws. There are missteps. There are moments you want to scream in utter frustration, cry in despair, and cheer with jubilance. And swoon??? Oh, YES, there is heart-palpitating swoon that is so full of depth and meaning.
There are so many layers to this story and it keeps you reading as you peel them back one by one. I would love to see this become a series (hint-hint!!!) because I love the people and community of Pinehaven. I am, therefore, firmly invested in what comes next:
- Jonah’s sister?
- The handsome doctor returning home?
- Lauren’s best friend visits or takes a job there? (Maybe her AND the doctor!)
Two or three more books would be juuuuust right! After all, that stunning barn venue is just waiting expectantly, in all its splendor, to be the amazingly romantic setting for endless weddings to come!
*** HUGE thanks to #NetGalley and #ThomasNelson (publisher) for an advanced copy of the audiobook. My honest review is voluntary and in my own words. #BeforeWeWereUs
