This book is good: an exciting, intriguing mystery with a lot of humor. At the same time, I found it was bogged down by too many technical descriptions of machinery and flight tactics.

Ive both read and listened to this book, and I think I prefer the written version better. The narrator was lovely and I think she had a wonderful voice for Spensa, but with the range of characters and the intensity of the story, I think the book would have benefited from a fuller cast. Reading the book also allows the weight of certain plot points to sink in, meanwhile an audiobook keeps the story going which wasn’t always beneficial for this story.
Still, I love the story and the characters. It’s a lot of fun, and I appreciate that the audio version makes the book accessible to me when I don’t have time to sit down with my kindle.

I didn't realize (stupidly) that this is a YA series. I found while reading that while it was a good YA scifi book with a great cliffhanger, I'm not into YA anymore and don't really enjoy YA character development and plot lines
