“What I loved about my brother…was his ability to dream and infect me with his dreams.”
This story was beautiful, full of the traumas so many people have had to go through, and the unbreakable bond between family, primarily siblings. So touching and wonderfully written.

This short story saddened me, to be honest. The tiger, Cuca, the protagonist's gentle brother, her iron like mother, her soldier father. If you love animals, skip this. Seriously, RIP Cuca. I do think the author's note at the end was touching and made me think of the women who got me to where I am. Even still, the reminder that I had and still have opportunities they didn't, well, let's just say call the final feeling I had while reading this story "bittersweet."

This was my first outing with Moreno-Garcia and I find myself intrigued to read more. while the plot of this is (understandably) simple, the writing was excellent and it was thematically very strong. I'll defiantly be looking to read some of Moreno-Garcia's longer work very soon.
