A short, beautifully written tale about family and the bonds of siblings over strife, THE TIGER CAME TO THE MOUNTAIN is a fantastic little story. I’m a big fan of sibling bonds in fiction, and. this one struck all the right notes for me. It was exciting, thoughtful, and beautifully executed with the perfect ending.

One in an Amazon series of shorts by currently popular authors. The stories take on what happens when humans and nature get up close and personal. In this one, Moreno-Garcia relates a family legend about her grandmother, great uncle, and a misplaced circus tiger.

The war had made the world bitter and difficult; it had taken family members and neighbors away, and threatened to snatch more people each day.

I really like the atmospheric writing of Silvia Moreno-Garcia. The way she manages to pack a punch in such a short tale is astounding. It was also super cool to learn that this is a fictionalization of things and events from her great-grandmother’s life.

The audio was phenomenal. It got me to tear up a little bit
the thought of losing a beloved sibling so soon and having to live on without them
