Im shocked. I actually really enjoyed this book. Note: Do NOT start the book while eating! I have a strong stomach and the beginning of the book threw me off.

This book was gory, witty and SMUTY. Whoa man, the smut was scorching hot. It was a nice change to the usual books that I read/ listen to.

It had lots of shock value that I enjoyed. The banter was fantastic; it was hilarious for me.

If you can’t do Dexter level stuff - don’t read it

This book scratched the Dexter itch I’ve had since I finished the show!

I did a tandem read between physical and audio, and it was a grand time. I was living for Sloane and Rowan’s banter. While I love Lucy River’s bright voice and narration style (she gives me slight valley girl vibes), I just don’t think it was the best match for Sloane. I imagined her to be more sultry, gritty yet velvet smooth…more like Megara in the Hercules Disney movie.  However that didn’t hinder me from enjoying the story. Joe Arden was perfection (as usual)…his take on a light Irish accent was hot.

The premise was a thrill ride and I was hooked into the plot! Now I love a good smut scene here and there, but once it hit the 70% mark and we were thrown very detailed smut scenes left and right, I just wanted to get back to the story. Kinda pulled me out a bit, but I loved how it wrapped up.

Can’t wait to get my grubby hands on book 2 in June!

My gaze meets the shadows as Sloane emerges from their grip. The breath I take feels the same as it does after you dive too deep, unsure if you’ll reach the surface in time.

Sweet baby Jesus, this book was such a ride. Rowan and Sloane, Butcher and Blackbird...gosh what can I even say???

Sloane and Rowan are 2 serial killers that kill serial killers. They are also 2 badass motherfuckers who are lacking a certain kind of connection that others around them seem to have. After a crazy first meeting - complete with a corpse and maggots - the 2 find themselves drawn to each other. They create an annual game where whoever identifies and takes out a target first wins. Somehow the sweetest love story unfolds in all of that craziness!

The banter and the humor in this story is TOP NOTCH. I seriously laughed out loud so many times. The writing is excellent and the spice...woooo she spicy.

📢 Def give this a go after you read the cw of course!

I liked the romance part of the book how they fall for each other and keep coming back to each other. I don’t like the serial killing aspect. I
