This book was somehow really boring, the writing was bad, and the spice didn’t give what I think it was trying to give. Disappointed considering how hyped this was on booktok.

First of all, why did I have to wait over 200 pages for spice? Unacceptable in a dark romance, in my humble opinion. Secondly, there are only a handful of spicy scenes and the majority of those are only moderately spicy. This book was interesting and so weird. I’m annoyed at everyone who freaked the fuck out about the ice cream scene. It was definitely less disgusting than some elements that came to light prior to the ice cream. Still gross but not worth the hype if I say so myself. The book is pretty decent but I wouldn’t categorize it as dark romance cause there’s not enough spice. All in all, a quick and engaging book that’s easy to get through in a few hours.

I had never heard Joe Arden narrate before by my goodness I am a fan! I read most thriller and horror books so this took me by surprise when I QUICKLY used a credit after reading the reviews and it didn't disappoint. All I can say is... it was hot, hot, 🔥!!!! As a woman, I can confidently say that most us want to be loved and adored the same way Ronan loves Sloane. And if I'm being honest I can't say I wouldn't want to take out all the bad people of the world either... people have truly lost their minds! this book made me LOL at a couple parts... I laughed so hard at one point I cried. overall, if you like smut and serial killer stories than this is definitely a story for you. the narrators knocked it out of the park and I can't wait to read the next installment because now I'm invested!

I liked the banter between characters, but the content is not for me.  I wasn’t going to read this book because of content warnings, but someone told me to read it anyway because those were written into the story with the concepts not as bad as the warnings make it sound.  In my humble opinion, the warnings should be heeded.  If they don’t bother you, you may enjoy this book.  As far as the romance, while reading I felt like I was missing pieces.  The romance was slow burn over a few years period, mostly long distance.  I felt like there was a disconnect of how the characters were getting closer and the romance budding.  I would’ve liked to have read more with the romance developing and the characters being drawn closer together emotionally.  It read more insta-romance to me or like there was a romance going on that I wasn’t privy too.  The banter and the competition was fun.

This book is NOT a dark romance! It's romance w/gore lmao. 

I think this book was ok. I was entertained, but the book has major flaws. There is no world building, almost no character building and the pacing/timeline was weird. The formatting was also weird. 

I love the main characters tho. I love Sloane's mental struggles and how her anxiety was written. 
 Also Rowan was written as Draco in early fanfiction. IYKYK 😏
