both books combined make for a simple and beautifully illustrated but ultimately kund of unimpressive work. perhaps theres some continuation I dont know ogf but it felt as though lots of events happened very suddenly and lots of characters changed with little prompting. There were also more than a few loose ends unfinished by the story. Im unsure if something happened that left the story unfinished but between the black eyed test tube people, the mysterious lesbian antagonist and the one scientist going suddenly berserk and hosting a small coup in the lab all went underdeveloped and underexplored. Just expected more overall

I love Moebius's work, but Icaro really disappointed me. There was so little story, and the artwork was not particularly interesting or beautiful. We're supposed to be invested in Icaro's relationship with one of the scientists studying him, but I don't think it comes across at all. And when that relationship becomes the focus of the story I lose all investment in the story, as well. The translation into English is also absolutely awful. Overall, some pretty frames, but generally uninteresting artwork and story.
