To Kill a Mockingbird surprised me with how good it was.  To be honest, going in I thought I would hate it.  I found the beginning plot to be rather disjointed.  Most of the character were quite good, but some of them lacked depth.  Honestly, this is a rather average book.

I will give this book five stars out of 5!! That's pretty rare from me😂.

⭐- The storyline had everything in it. A touch of suspense, emotions, highs and lows. And most importantly, life lessons. Lessons which show us how easy it is to go on walking down the wrong path. But, once you do what's right, the whole world gets upside down.

⭐- Characters. I certainly fell in love with them within a few chapters. The relationship among them is described amazingly. I have grown quite fond of the bond of Atticus with his kids.

⭐- The language!! No tough words, but every sentence expresses a thousand different things. 

⭐- Character growth, the author doesn't just write 'After one year' to show that time has passed.  The characters change in behaviour tells me so. As if I also grew up a lot with these two kids and a single father.

⭐- Perfect pacing. No point in the story felt hurried or too slow. It hasn't any groundbreaking plot twists but presented in such a way that it will succeed to shock you. 

⭐- What else I will say??🤣. Add all the praise you can. It's a gem of a book! You won't regret picking it up!!

😺- I have my fingers crossed for Walter. I am cribbing to see him and Scout together 😂.

I finally got around to reading 'To kill a mockingbird' after not having been given the chance at school. I'm very glad that I have read it as it was a beautiful book, with a lot of meaning, Seeing the story from the children's eyes was a great way to explore the themes running throughout the book, and shows just how much children learn and observe from the world around them.

I really liked this book because I was super into the plot. I didn't want to put the book down and the author did a good job of making me feel the same emotions as the characters. I also liked how it went against the racial norms of that time and fought for racial equality.
