not my favorite in the series so far - however I did like all the different artists and their styles.

As others have said, this doesn't quite feel like it should have been one of the spinoffs - it's really continuing the main storyline. Agree that Cindy is taking Bigby's role here, and I almost would have rather had a Cinderella story that talks about what she is good at. Regardless, an entertaining story.

lol, Cinderella as a detective.

I'm just so here for everything being so gritty. I do think some of the details of this story don't really make sense, but honestly this is one of those things where what I liked sticks out in my mind more than what I didn't. I don't really care about the plot that much. I like this weird fucked up world where everything is so bleak.

A good companion to the series, especially if you like Cinderella.

As I catch up on all of my fables off-shoots, I have to say this was one of my favorites. A solid story line with each "chapter" having a different illustrator. The different depictions of Cindy and Goldilocks were cool to see all well done; intriguing in their own way!

rating is mostly for the art. liked how this followed style of 1001 Nights of Sbowfall, with short chapters illustrated by different artists. The actual story was meh.

I love the idea of giving different illustrators sections of story to bring to life, and nearly each on its own is remarkable. The flip side, unfortunately, is that it causes dissonance. Several of the characters are already difficult to distinguish, and when their appearances are given different interpretations from chapter to chapter it only exacerbates the issue.

Even so, this is an extremely successful graphic novel both visually and narratively. It was a bold choice to frame the action with large sections of text told from the perspective of the enchanted mirror. Those scenes were definite favorites, even more so with how they tie into the denouement. Smart, fun, and satisfying.

Loved this, mostly. It took me an embarrassingly long time for me to work out who the culprit was. I found Cinderella much more tolerable in this volume - she seemed less obnoxious. I also liked seeing things from the mirror’s perspective, and it’s a great relief that his house (the business office) was finally reconnected with Fabletown.

One thing I find irritating about Goldilocks is that she has this vendetta against all of the “fairest” fables, but she’s still conventionally, euro-centrically attractive. Fables has a massive issue with its women all having the exact same body type (not to mention that they’re mostly white, able-bodied and cishet) and she’s no exception. She also has a stereotypically pretty face, so this whole thing doesn’t really check out to me. Annoying, to say the least.
