I love your writing style. The way you describe actions, feelings, and scenes are unique and there are very few phrases you repeat which is something I find distracting with other authors.

Even if I don't love a character I end up rooting for them in the end and there's something charming about that.

I enjoyed this but I liked the first book better.

I love Lillian and Marcus together and the end of the book was a wild ride I wasn't expecting.

Excited to start book 3!

I'm flabbergasted at the people who rate this book poorly for these "issues":
1) Not diverse (and we all know what you mean by diverse). Well duh. It was written in 2005 and the subject matter is Regency romance... this isn't Shonda's reimagined history, it's based on actual Regency, of course its not diverse for gay people or different races. ITS REGENCY ENGLAND.
2) It's classist... Are you kidding? The biggest duh in history. Again, it's REGENCY ENGLAND where the whole point of the book is that class people need to marry class people in that society. They do even break the mold though, Annabelle doesn't marry a peer and Lillian isn't a peer even if she is wealthy. My goodness, they are saucy for actual Regency times in marrying a working class man ir an American for love.

If you have a problem with these things, how about DONT READ A REGENCY ROMANCE WRITTEN BEFORE 2015. You will find plenty of crowd pandering, view altering history from books written recently even in the Regency genre (🤮). But I went out of my way to read something from before the agenda pushing times we live in.

I loved this book. No side gay characters or any agendas even mentioned. The opposites attract trope was exceptional. Highly enjoyable couple ❤️

i can't decide if this was a 4 or 5 star - definitely somewhere in the middle

i LOVED lillian and marcus's dynamic but i definitely felt there was a lot of sexual grayness (non-con followed by tons of explicit consent?!) plus the ending is kinda wild in a bad way??

i'm very eager to see how sebastian gets redeemed, and with EVIE of all characters.... but at least he didn't r*** her at all or any SA which some of these reviewers had me nervous about. and i'm getting ~tortured~ male vibes so i'm probably going to be head over heels for this (fictional) man like a FOOL

anyway. lisa kleypas has me by the throat right now!
