Re: strong character development, Lucy always knew who she was, Anthony learned it through the story. Liked having the back drop of not on the level political dealings and women struggling to be seen as equals and not put away when challenging the current belittling world view of them.

DNF at 57% of the way through the book. I really liked the premise, but the male lead was incredibly frustrating and behaved in a way that made it impossible for me to root for the romantic relationship. I kept thinking that the FML deserved better.

Loved the twists and turns the plot took.  Really was invested in it and it was quite long which was lovely.

There were such good nuggets here - well-characterized main characters, good moments of angst, but it was also kind of a hot mess.

Wildly inconsistent pacing, way too much B plot, physical contact far too soon, cutting the tension, and not enough payoff.

It had so much potential and the writing is objectively good, but I just kinda shrugged my way through it.
