Highly recommended novel for Daredevil fans, really gets into the motivation behind the characters in a way that works. I personally think the novelization is much stronger than Frank Miller's original comic.

reading slump 🤑🤑

The narration and sound effects would bump this to a 3.5... they were wrote good. The main story was pretty standard Daredevil fare, but some of the descriptions of violence outside of the fights seemed gratuitous.

Paul Crilley does a good job taking Frank Miller's classic Matt Murdock/Daredevil origin story into prose, but Graphic Audio does a ever better job of turning it into a audio book. If youre a fan of the comic books, movie, or Netfix series then you'll enjoy this. It's action enough to keep a adult interested without it being overly violent for kids/young adults.

A good book that adapts the comic series from the 90s, but makes adjustments for modernity and some plot changes towards the end regarding Matt's young friend.

It's a good read as a whole. The pace drags a little at times, but I did enjoy it. This book will have a hard time finding it's niche audience given it's an adaptation of the hero's origin - which many fans of comics know. It is also a bit more graphic in terms of violence so I'm thinking teens who don't have much experience with the character would be the ideal demographic for it.

I liked it, but some aspects could've been better and certain parts of the original story (ex: Elektra) don't fully translate well into this particular origin retelling.
