I found the army portions to be more engaging. I am curious of what she has to say about good versus bad leadership. It’s well written.

Daniella masterfully threads the story of her upbringing in The Children of God with her experience as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. The way she tells her story is gripping, brutally honest, and validating to anyone who has ever experienced group think of any kind.
While challenging to get through, Daniella’s vulnerability and willingness to share some of her darkest moments and highlight the truths about how high control groups effect us are what truly makes this the best book I read in 2023.

be very careful before picking this up. please check the content warnings!!

while the first part of this book is hard to read due to the content, it is a very important story and perspective. however, the second part takes a big turn and becomes about serving in the military and contains some comments and opinions i think are kinda bad. take that for what you will.
