This was a solid (if not standard) YA fantasy romance. I thought the world building and characters were good, but nothing about this book particularly gripped me or made me particularly excited to pick it back up. I do plan to continue in the series, but I am a little nervous based on what i’ve heard about the second book.

I actually really enjoyed this book. I feel like I expected Ried to act a little differently when he found out but this book was actually really fun to read. The world building could’ve been a little better but that’s okay because the vibes were immaculate.

Also…ANSEL MY LOVEEEE. I just adore him!

¡Me ha encantado!
Tenía muchas ganas de leerlo y ha sido mejor de lo que esperaba.

Lou me ha parecido genial. Su forma de ver la vida, su osadía y sentido del humor hacen de ella un personaje fácil de querer.
Por otro lado, Reid, se presenta como la antítesis de Lou, aunque en realidad tienen muchas cosas en común. A pesar de ser un chasseur o cazador de brujas, mi simpatía por Reid iba aumentando cada vez más a través de la historia. Además, resulta comprensible su visión de las brujas y la magia, ya que no conocía más que una explicación sobre ellas.

Finalmente, debo decir que el slow-burn romance entre Lou y Reid me tenía super expectante. No hayaba la hora de que esa tensión diera de sí de una vez por todas

What happens when a witch falls in love with a witch Hunter?

All hell breaks lose,that’s what happens quite literally.
This was my second time reading Serpent and Dove,and I fell even more in love with this book.

From the very first page Lou had me. Coco had me,they all pulled me in for different reasons.

Their relationship is the kind I absolutely adore.Sassy spit fire girl and pompous ass. Nothing will beat the cloak chapter in my head,in my opinion that is the turning point where they start to realize their feelings for each other.

I can’t even describe how amazing this book is.Shelby Mahurin quite literally made me hate a character for half the book then love them by the end. How is that possible?!?

Also Reid cursing is my favourite thing.

4.5 // beautifully built up tension between reid and lou as they both navigate their own journeys through the revelations and twists. excited to see where the story goes and to explore everyone’s but especially reid’s new perspective.
