I really enjoyed the author's writing style, but the content of the short stories didn't strike any chord for me. Perhaps the problem is that they're really, really short stories - some of them don't even have one turning point of change, let alone two or more (e.g. "One Reader Writes" is a one-note letter). They are generally without conclusive endings, more like character studies than stories. But I don't want to read studies, I want to read stories! So alas, this book wasn't for me.
