I have to stop falling for these fictional men. But Lincoln is so easy to love.

Loved this! I love the relationship between Ciara and Lincoln. Love both of their families and found families and I cannot wait to finish the series.
I will say that I was annoyed withboth the way that Ciara felt like she had to face everything on her own and the way that Lincoln felt responsible for things that he had no control over. Both of those are some of my pet peeves. In addition I did find some of the dialogue to be a little cringe but I loved their story and the ending was satisfying

I really enjoyed this one! The romance, chemistry and relationship between our main characters was done so so well and they had a nice development throughout the book and formed a strong and healthy relationship. I loved them both and they generally kind, wo derful people! And their families were absolutely delightful. The suspense aspect was also so SO good. From the very beginning I was intrigued and invested. Overall, it was such a good read and I can't wait to read the rest.

4.5/5 ⭐️
This book had me on the edge of my seat. That's an understatement. Reading it made me feel like I was watching a Lifetime movie—the really good ones that used to come on in the early 2000s. They were talking about real-life things and had depth.
The story was so unexpected. I went into this book thinking that it would be a typical romance where flawed characters find themselves, and I wasn't wrong, but this book was so much more. I always love a good romance, but throwing in a thriller angle with this was not only unexpected but added depth in such a beautiful way. Getting to see all of the main POVs literally kept me on the edge of my seat.
Ciara was going through it in this book, and I truly felt for her on so many levels. In the end, she not only found her strength but also found herself again in the midst of such an outrightly diabolical situation. And while there were parts where I was screaming at her to do what needed to be done, she had to get there on her own terms.
Lincoln was also fighting his own battles and demons but he was literally everything. He loved strong and somewhat fearlessly and always showed up without question. I was definitely screaming at him too but for completely different reasons.
Ciara and Lincoln together were absolutely beautiful. I love how they loved each other and I was rooting for them the entire book. A true friends-to-lovers/he fell first first. They found themselves individually but came together even stronger.
And their families and friends were truly a village around them and I loved their sense of community. They wouldn't have been able to come to the end without them.
I can't wait to finish this series.
And Eddie 🖕🏾 you deserved so much worse
