I went into this blind, as I’ve been doing lately with all my autobuy authors. All I could tell was that the MMC was a firefighter which makes him instantly objectively hot. After reading it though, it’s definitely more than just a romance. It’s a romantic thriller? Is that a thing?? If so, this is it. Ciara has fled her hometown in Baltimore for a fresh start following a trauma and Lincoln is a firefighter who has closed himself off from dating due to past trauma of his own. They cross paths due to Ciara making fast friends with Lincoln’s sister, Sasha and that’s all she wrote.
I loooove a book that’s heavy on strong family and/or friendships and this book had both. There was also a little sprinkle of communal heroism because…firefighter and the aforementioned friendships/families. There was some potentially triggering content in this book so I’d encourage taking a peek at them before reading. For me though, it was just a bit unsettling. The antagonist was mad cringey…I ain’t even gonna hold you…I started skipping those short chapters because they added no value to the story. Ciara’s account was enough for me.
Overall, this book did not disappoint. The side characters (though MANY) really helped make the story richer, rather than confusing. I know there are two other books in this series but there could easily be like 5 or more books because I’d enjoy reading more about every other character in more depth. I’m excited to continue this reading experience 🤗

This was a good book. The stalker was creepy af. I listened and read this one and man the voice to reading his words. Super creep! I was thinking ex lover or something but dude was way more nefarious than I expected and the situation was so different than I imaged. I almost wanted to get more in his head like she did xuz ehy are you so crazy? I get your mom abused you but like wtf... Anyways, also glad she took him down the way she did and lived again to tell the story, she needed that level of closure no matter how hard it was doing it she did and im glad.
I was so glad she had a tribe that was really there for her. I think sometimes we run when we should be stopping to ask for help. We feel like we need to spare everyone around us cuz things wont change for us. I really really identified with this in her. Like girl i get it. You jist wannt run and keep everyone safe from the BS thats escalating in your life. While I never had a stalker I do have a mentality like this and its detrimental.

4⭐️ This was NOT what I expected it to be. This book simultaneously pissed me off and gave me life. Literally a book about an incel little bxtch boy and a woman in a terrible position. This book is wild but really good. This was the best result of a great premise. I wish there was more story with Sierra after everything with that little bastard Eddie. Great spice, good relationship building, but my overall favorite is the found-family in it. Ughhh I love it!

Still as good as I remember.
Ciara and Lincoln share sweet moments while getting over old and new trauma. I love their story and how they overcome obstacles in their way. I also love the families. Minor characters stand out. I wish my girl would finish this series.
