At first I was a little lost as to what exactly was happening, but don’t put this book down! You’ll understand in a few chapters, and then you won’t Want to put it down! As far as world-building, I’d put this on the level of Lord of the Rings. The plot was excellent and the characters exciting. Really good book.

Started with the TV series first because I was intimidated by how many books there are. Read first spring thinking that it was this book and was very confused, haha. Prologue was amazing and sucked me in - somehow 800+ pages flew by very quickly.

Readers often talk about how Robert Jordan spends a lot of time describing clothes but somehow, I didn’t find it long-winded or overdone. Love his prose. Also didn’t see some scenes coming despite already knowing the general storyline after watching the TV series. Excited to read more in the rest of the series!

this book took me eons to finish. Robert Jordan’s language is so thick and descriptive that a small chapter can feel like a whole story in itself, I should have kept this book aside with it’s length and density alone, but completing it now is something of a milestone for me. I will return to this rich and exciting world when my energy and focus returns to me, but for now, i leave Rand and co.
