This is the second time I've read this, and I had basically the same experience of it the second time. It was fine, but there wasn't anything I found particularly exciting and the first time around I stalled out partway into the second one. But I just finished the tv show and LOVED it, and I need to find out what happens next, so I'm trying to push through to get to more interesting parts (and I've given myself permission to skim over particularly tedious bits).
Good enough to be getting on with, although imo no Dragonlance. For a long while it wasn't clear who the book was centered on, and a ton of world-building information is kind of dumped on you without explanation. Many books left in the series so I assume this will all even out, but we'll see.
Fairly slow until the 500s out of an 800+ pg book. I knew that was Jordan’s style tho, and after that I was hooked. Climax was a bit short after a build up of the entire book but still very enjoyable fantasy writing/world building
