This book obviously sets up a lot of stuff for the foundations of the series but it is also very slow going in some parts. Just looooong parts traveling and running away.
adventurous

Enthralling and tension-filled, but I started to get tired of Rand. Give me more perrin!!!

adventurous challenging dark mysterious reflective slow-paced

An intriguing story with so much detail it makes it slow to read. I am compelled to read the next but knowing there are 15 books in the series is overwhelming. I felt like this book could have been shorter.

From BookTok I started with Fourth Wing, to Sarah J. Maas, then Sanderson’s Cosmere, and finally I’m here to begin my Wheel of Time journey and was not disappointed. I was sucked right in and couldn’t put it down. I love Jordan’s descriptive prose that made each chapter feel almost like a standalone short story. You can feel the epic scope building its foundation with the settings, characters, and mysteries. Yes it’s long and yes the pace is slow, but it’s what I would expect from a 15-book series. I can’t wait to read more!
