I'm glad I watched the show first because I came in already attached to the characters and with a basic understanding of the world. It's a good story if a bit full of stereotypical fantasy tropes. The beginning felt so much like the beginning of Fellowship, down to them being pursued by "black riders." But I am a fan of fantasy after all so these things don't bother me. Love all the characters in this story especially.
