i bought this because it was on a really good sale even though i know most of the mcu preludes are not very good. this was okay. a little annoyed that invincible iron man #7 was thrown in there because i've already read that. this is basically 2 issues of the civil war movie in comic book format, with spidey's perspective. considering there's 2 months between civil war and homecoming, i was hoping it was something i haven't seen before.

They really need to stop making these preludes if they are all going to be just a movie-to-comic adaptation of a previous movie in the MCU.

You have 2 months in between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Spider-man: Homecoming - you could at least include some story from that time or maybe more of the Vulture's back story.

Can we go back to the days where these preludes had originality to them?

They are now completely wasting the money of MCU lovers (unless you refuse to purchase them like myself).

If you watched Captain America: Civil War, give this a skip. It's literally just the Spidey scenes in that movie and nothing else.

I have a tiny bit of hope that the next one will actually be relevant to the movie and not a repeat of a previous one (I'm looking at you, Thor: Ragnarok.

The art of the 2 prelude comics (ie. Captain America: Civil War summarized) was pretty generic. I've never seen that style in a Marvel comic before, but everyone looked the same! Take the hair off the girls and guys and the only thing different about them would be their eyes and maybe their skin color.
Peter's wit in the other three comics were entertaining. The quips in the older ones aren't quite as relevant, and I think his character has changed to keep with the times, but he still has a good sense of humor. I don't keep up on Spider-Man, so including the comics they have and having already seen the movie allowed me to make some connections between characters in the movie I might not have otherwise.
The older Stan Lee comics are still way too wordy for me though. It's like reading a real book instead of a comic.

Completely pointless. Just a graphic novelization of the Spider-Man scenes from the Civil War movie.

To hear all about my love for the movie this is supposedly setting up, tune in here: https://soundcloud.com/allthebooks/episode-202-spider-man

Spider-man is one of my top favorite super heros and this graphic novel was a let down since I really enjoyed spider0man homecoming, but this graphic novel is manily stuff from Civil War and with a few different story lines and some old school spider-man. If you have seen Civil War then you are wasting your time by reading this.
