I normally am not a person who is invested in reading about serial killers but this investigation into Israel Keys, a man I had no idea existed, intrigued me. The BOTM version is sold out so that alone was enough for me to read. Definitely an easier read in terms of reading ability. The content itself still made me feel a bit uncomfortable but learning the process and the why was what kept me reading.

Absolutely chilling! I have never heard of this serial killer! And the way he thought about the killings and how he choose them. Just chilling. That's all I can say about this story. The writing was methodical and the way the story was told was absolute perfection. I can't even wrap my mind around Israel keys and how I've never heard of him. Gives me the chills.

I have read a ton of true crime, listened to many podcasts, watched all the docs, and many youtubes and Israel Keyes has to be one of the most terrifying serial killers in history. He did it all: arson, burglary, murder, rape... He was truly a monster. I have been completely paranoid while reading this because he was smart enough not to get caught while committing crimes over the course of 14 years. He committed his crimes all over the country in all manner of locations and even in broad daylight. Unfortunately, he committed suicide so we will never know the true extent of his reign of terror and he will never be brought to justice.

Highly recommend for readers who enjoy true crime with a focus on serial killers.

The story as a whole was interesting but the writer went to such graphic unneeded detail I was left frantically skimming pages as to not feel ill. I’m a sensitive gal, but I read plenty of true crime and I’ve never felt as bad as I did readin this. I think it was mostly due to the lack of care for the victims in telling the story and it was very focused on the killer. I really wanted to hear more about the people and less about the crimes.

Wow. I have read a lot of true crime but didn't know about this guy, though as I was reading this, I vaguely remember this case, as I lived in Washington state at the time. The writing here was fantastic and getting to understand the timeline of things.
