It was good but it took me a while to finish it. I wasn't as motivation to finish it like all the other ones.

OMG!!!! HOLY MOLY!!!!! Grab your tissues. Grab a comfy chair. Set aside a chunk of time. Sit down and fall in love. Lover's Lament is my new favorite book. I am so thrilled I ordered a signed copy. It will be my new "Precious". Lover's Lament is ingrained in my heart. I can't express how relieved I am that this was on my reader. Pages would have been tear stained. I cannot believe how much was crammed into the pages of this book. If you like second chance romances grab it today. Devin and Katie were grade school best friends and high school sweethearts. Then Devin was forced to leave town. If you like military romance--grab it today. Ten years later he is Sergeant Devlin Clay fighting in Afghanistan. If you want a story that deals with surviving loss you need to read this book. Katie is in the car with her father when they are hit by a drunk driver, a drunk soldier. She survives but doesn't deal. Lover's Lament opened my eyes to the struggles of vets. I gained understanding for their spouses. Being a military brat you would have thought I knew--so clueless. The words impacted me more than I can say. The authors were able to create a beautiful love story that needs to be on the big screen.

Damn, I've just dried my tears. That damn epilogue!

This book made me smile, laugh, swoon and cry. I felt some of the things and events played out in the story right in my soul. They reached to me. I think it was a good book, with two strong POV's of the two main characters. And some funny and interesting secondary characters, I really wish to get to know Maggie some more.

The female lead character, Katie, didn't charmed me enough though she was strong, and beautiful in her own way, but it took me a few chapters to warm to her. The male character, Devin, was a good one, I liked him, and I kept picturing him as BT Urruela... Yummy!

I confess I didn't like the parts where he talked about war, and narrated events related to missions, they kind of bore me and I confess I just passed through those paragraphs. This because, one: I didn't get all the military slang thrown there and; two: I'm not from the U.S And please don't call U.S people Americans, because I'm from Chile, in South America, and that makes me American too, in case some of you didn't know. so I don't necessarily understand the need of this war that has lasted so many damn years. And I know that's a really complex and touchy subject to approach in a book review, but I had to be honest. I'm all for a sexy military man, because damn! they're hot and they're interesting in what they have to tell and show. But in my country the military man are not hot nor so interesting, and they mean something much more complex because of political reasons that I will not explain here. But the point is that the strategical and military slang or missions bored me, so that's why I'm not giving it a 5 stars and because it took me a while to like Katie.

Taking all of that out, I liked this book very much, it kept me interested from beginning to end. And I am so glad it had a HEA, after all the struggle, and pain and that damn epilogue... I needed the last pages to put myself together, so Thank You, authors!

Oh my heart! This book, man have tissues handy when reading this story!
Maybe it is just me since I am a military spouse but it hit me with all the feels.
Devin and Katie’s story is one of the greats! Being friends since 1st grade to eventually dating each other, to heartbreak, then to randomly find each other again. I don’t want to give too much away because you need to read this book!!
KL Grayson and BT Urruela you guys did a wonderful job writing this one. It is EASILY in my top 10 favorite books!😍

So much emotion. That's all I can say after reading... twice in 1 week. My heart was broken, happy, terrified, torn, devastated, and so full all in the course of reading. I'm not military, and do not have a loved one that has been in combat. Yet, I was able to feel so much of the grief, fear & heartache that Katy felt. I was terrified every moment of Devin's POV while deployed - terrified of what he would experience and have to live with. The letters they share are so honest, and ultimately so full of love. There is so much more to the story than just Devins deployment and their separation- lost love, reconciliation, childhood scars, anger resolution and so much love. I just adore this story and how it was written.

Now I am looking forward to Navas' story.

I read Miss Grayson book before and I do not like it. So when I picked up A Lover's Lament, I hesitate a bit. With so many good reviews in Goodreads, I decided to start the audiobook.

And I like this book very much. The story of second change romance mix with war hero, blends very nicely. Like a fine coffee in the morning. I do love the letters/ email and the phone conversation between Katie and Devin. It is so romantic. Sweet realistic romantic. I do like Devin. He is not that OTT alpha male, but he is brave, quite, and loyal. He do anything to protect all of her men and bring them home.

Katie is typical likeable heroine. I am glad she gives Devin that second chance to their romance. The character chemistry is there. Not over the top, but just the right amount of chemistry. The right amount to makes me swoon.

Overall, I do this book very much.

There are not enough words to describe how much I love this book. Honestly, I wanted to read this book because the cover is super hot but then I put it off because it's a second-chance romance - one of my least favorite romance troupes. When this showed up in my Bookworm Box, I knew it was time to read it. This is my very favorite second-chance romance and one of my favorite books of all time. The writing was mesmerizing and I connected with these characters and I felt like I knew them. I was hooked from the prologue and could not put this down. I loved both Katie and Devin. I loved all the build up to them getting back together. I loved the drama, suspense and angst. This book has completely owned me for the last two days, so much so that when I finished it, I went back and read some of my favorite parts right away. There was something so powerful about this book - maybe it was the details in Devin's point of view of what he was going through overseas, maybe it was Katie's point of view when she was dealing with her grief and reconnecting with the love of her life or maybe it was the letters that they wrote to each other. Whatever it was, this book was brilliant. I loved this book so much it's going on my list of top 10 favorite books ever and I can't recommend it enough. This is the first book I have read by either of these authors and I can't wait to read more.

This book......wow. So powerful. I really felt part of Katie and Dev's journey. (Anyone watching my facial reactions can attest to this!) I did listen to the audio version to this, which makes it even more thrilling. It was truly a wonderful performance!
