This book is old. Very different. I like how it tries to show that people should not be treated well just because of their money. Sarah loses everything and the villain 100% does the wrong thing by treating her differently.

Buuuuuut... It ends with her redemption being "nah, she's rich! Yay!" And that is why everyone decided to treat her better. Except for the few that treated her well all along.

Read it with my kids this time around.

Youngest: did not understand the question and asked for french fries

Though this took me quite a while to finish, I'm glad I didn't give up on it. It's such a beautiful tale of kindness and perseverance and I really liked it a lot.
