I think this book was great and I liked reading it. the perspective showed the emptions of the character so it really feels like you feel the same emotions. at first, I wasn't its biggest fan. I judged the book by its cover which is the first thing I did wrong when I picked it out. I read the back which made me even more interested. but when I started it, I wasn't that into it. I decided to continue reading even if it wasn't my type of book because I hate the idea of not finishing a book. I personally wasn't the biggest fan but its only because it isn't my style or genre that I prefer. so I don't want to discourage anyone from reading it because it was a great book but just not my favourite type.
Cutesy, but I don't think I liked it much. I like the message about hope and imagination and I believe the author had good intentions but, in my opinion, most things come across as tone-deaf.
This was one of my favourite childhood movies and I'm so glad I got around to finally reading the book! I'd forgotten how much I loved this story :) I will definitely re read this again and again, even though it's not quite the happy ending in the film. Sarah's character always makes me smile and Ram Dass is just plain lovely!
Okay I now have a favourite author and want to read everything that Frances Hodgson Burnett has. I can't believe I never read this growing up as they really feel like young me books.
Another truly wholesome story about kindness and compassion with a sprinkling of magic and nature, my absolute favourite kind of story.
But what happened to Becky!! :( I wanted to know she was loved and looked after too!

This book was really sweet and cute and I was definitely smiling for the last chapter and a half. Bumped it up half a star for me.

The secret garden is one of my favorite classics of all time. It combines so many amazing and timeless themes and surrounds them with a little bit of magic. But, for some reason a little princess is even less known in the Netherlands and had therefore never really caught my attention. Until I saw this gorgeous edition in London.
And it didn't take long for this book to find its way to my heart. The story is, from beginning to start heartwarming and gripping. It's written in a very easy to read way, even after all those years, and it really made me feel like I was there and knew Sara, could see her walking around and was sitting on the rug, just like all the other kids, to listen to her gripping stories.
The power of this book is the simplicity of what's been told and shown that still feels like something big. The setting is simple, Sara is a very easy to like and easy to grasp character, and nothing that happens to her seems so incredibly big. Which is probably because Sara never makes a drama out of anything, which makes her very likeable.
A little princess is a heartwarming story about the power of love, the power of imagination and the promise that good things eventually happen to those who keep on giving good things to others, even when they don't really have anything left to give.
