This started out pretty disappointing, but once the games and puzzles got underway it got more interesting. I was resolved to be done with this series, since it didn’t seem to have much more to offer, but there were enough loose ends left dangling that I think I will try to read the next one. A couple of gripes: the full names of characters were used way too often, like, noticeably too often. Using someone’s full name should have some impact and it just didn’t anymore. Also, I had forgotten a lot from the original trilogy and spent quite a bit of time hopelessly confused. Maybe that’s a me problem, but I feel like other authors do a better job of catching you up to speed in a way that feels natural, and I really needed that. The strength of this series is definitely the puzzles and games… there’s a sense of fun there that I really enjoy.

3.5! It took me a little bit to get into the story. But once I did I could not stop.

The storyline is dragging and I think this last one was unnecessary. I also feel like the language used is too young for me. I guess I’m not the intended audience for the book.
