It dragged at times. The romance was annoying (but I personally don't enjoy reading romance). The overall story was enjoyable and very well written. I admire and enjoy the intricacies that connect The Dark Artifices to the other books within the Shadowhunter World. I do believe The Dark Artifices are a good addition to anyone's Shadowhunter/Cassandra Clare collection.

The best. I absolutely love this portion of the Shadowhunters books. I was a 3-4 start person on The immortal instruments and the infernal devices. If I could rate The Dark Artifices 1000 stars I would. It is epic. I feel it relates closely to what is happening in America today. I also loved the representation of trans, poly, gay, and differently-abled. It was amazing! If you have ever felt unheard, or been mad at hell at the establishment, undiagnosed neurodivergent, this is the series for you. The love stories sprinkled throughout had my heart soaring and crashing. This book has everything I've ever wanted. I was seriously debating getting rid of this collection before I read the dark artifices. SOOOO GOOD! Everything that leads to this is worth it. I can't wait to read them all again with this new outlook.

I liked Mark but this trilogy desperately needed an editor to cut out all the filler.
