Wow! This was truly something! I feel like I’m starting to love the TOG series, and I liked this one even more than Throne of Glass! Although I have mixed feelings about SJM's writing, I always enjoy stepping into the worlds she has created—it feels so comforting, and like returning home. This book is no exception. It has elements of fantasy, romance, and action, along with many other elements that I really love. I just couldn't stop reading! While Calaena can be a bit annoying at times, I still like her character. She has been through a lot and she goes through so much character growth in this one. I like Chaol, and I LOVE Dorian. Why aren't more people talking about him?? So far, Calaena’s love interests feel like fillers until she finds the one she will eventually end up with, to me, at least. To me, her romances haven’t felt very convincing. But oh my goodness, that ending?! Someone give me the next book—I need more!

oh.my.god. <3 Thank the Wyrd this book was written ;3 ending was unexpected and turned my world upside-down. For those who reach the end, look back at page 85. x3

I still think the writing is cringe most of the time, I still hate the love triangle, I still think it's predictable.
But when the Assassin finally assassinated, I started enjoying it. And now I'm interested to see where this goes

You know we’re starting to get there plot wise but the men really need to start stepping it up cuz they’re so boring and not being hot— what is the point in me reading this series until a hot man comes in (which should be soon but… two books of wasted time is not what I’m asking for)

Also Calaena was being so unnecessarily dramatic and needed to chill. This book could’ve been half the length if she was smart and figured out the obvious things she needed to without prancing around the castle. Like wake up girlie
