It was an entertaining enough book, but I despise constant expanding of bounds of this world. It keeps adding in new rules and lore that almost makes it seem sloppy? Like magic but not magic but still magic, plus the dead spirit world but also not dead spirit world just an evil world, plus plus humans but also maybe not just humans? I’m over it. Give me a world and stick to it.

I also don’t like the characters enough to be invested.

Loved the bits of romance but not overpowering. A lot of drama and “supernatural” action. Shocking death and a crazy twist at the end unless you’ve seen spoilers (I saw a few so I kinda knew something was coming) but it was still fun to see it play out! So far I’m loving this series! And btw I’m new to fantasy (started with ACOTAR)
